WWOCN Scholarship Fund: 2025-2026 Academic Year
 

Supporting the Educational Dreams of Wisconsin's Women of Color

The Wisconsin Women of Color Network (WWOCN) is proud to offer scholarships for the 2025-2026 academic year.

​

Scholarships Available:

​

  • Mabel Smith Memorial Scholarship: For Wisconsin graduating high school seniors and recent GED/HSED graduates planning to attend an accredited Wisconsin community, vocational, or technical college.

  • Hattie J. Hilliard Scholarship: For Wisconsin residents pursuing degrees in Art, Graphic Arts, or any other art-related field of study at an accredited Wisconsin college or university.

  • Cammer-Hill Grant and WWOCN Women’s Fund: For Wisconsin residents applying to an accredited Wisconsin community, vocational, or technical college.

Eligibility:

​

  • Meet the specific criteria for each scholarship.

  • Demonstrate a record of community service, school involvement, or extracurricular activities.

  • Submit a completed application by May 31, 2025, for the 2025 summer or fall semesters, or the 2026 spring semester.

Application Process:

​

  • Write an Essay: In a single-page, double-spaced essay, describe how the scholarship will help you achieve your educational goals. Specify which scholarship you are applying for.

  • Letters of Recommendation: Submit at least two letters of recommendation from individuals who can attest to your academic abilities or potential.

  • Transcripts or Proof of Completion:

    • Mabel Smith applicants: Provide a high school transcript from the end of the first semester of your senior year or a copy of your GED Certificate of Completion.

    • Other applicants: Show evidence of good standing if you are not in your first term of post-secondary education.

Scholarship Award:

​

  • Funds will be sent directly to your chosen college or university upon proof of enrollment.

  • Scholarship recipients will be recognized at a WWOCN meeting and are expected to give a presentation on their educational progress.
